Judd, Harry

Harry was born on March 4, 1866 in Southampton, England to George Judd and Mary Ann Maynard.  Harry had two siblings, George (b.1856) and Clara (b.1871).  He set out for Canada at the age of 21 when he sailed on the S/S Corean from London (Plymouth) England to Quebec City.  He arrived on the 19 of May, 1887.

He married Celia Lorne Braham on November 7, 1891 and they had one child, Mary Louisa Judd who was born on May 16, 1893.

Family members will remember Papa Judd living upstairs in Alex and Louise’s house (Mary Louisa McKinlay) at 408 Davisville Avenue, Toronto, Ontario.  He was crippled so he only came downstairs on very special occasions and then his grandsons’ Frank and Doug would carry him down the stairs.  He always shared his “humbugs” with his great-grandchildren.

In his older years he lived in an old age home on Christie Street in Toronto.  He is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
